Ocean Youth Trust South is charity using Adventure Under Sail as a personal development opportunity for young people, on board our beautiful 30-metre vessel Prolific.
Our voyages allow you to cover all the essential areas for your Residential, within a relaxed, informal environment. You will learn a great deal – but you will also have a fantastic time!
You will sail as an active crew member (not a passenger!) and:
– meet new people
– experience an unfamiliar environment
– build new relationships / show concern for others
– work as a team towards shared goals
– accept responsibility for yourself and others
– develop communication skills
– show initiative
– have the chance to earn an RYA sailing qualification
– have a fantastic, fun adventure!

Voyages currently available:
7-13 July, Brixham, 6 nights, £710 per person
3-9 Aug, Brixham to Guernsey, 6 nights, £710 per person (not including travel)
10-17 Aug, Guernsey to Poole, 7 nights, £815 per person (not including travel) – race against other sail training vessels in celebration of the RNLI 200th Anniversary
30 Aug – 4 Sept, Brixham to Southampton, 5 nights, £605 per person

You may want to sail with us just once for your Residential – but up to a third of Prolific’s volunteer watchleaders are aged under 25 and earned a recommendation to join the team for further training after impressing the skipper on an initial youth voyage. This can mean years of free sailing and a great addition to your CV, with a chance to volunteer on future voyages, often with disadvantaged young people – perhaps for just a week or so each summer but with far more opportunities for those who are interested. This can even be a step on the way to a sailing career – Prolific’s current full-time Staff Mate, Lauren, first sailed with us as a 16-year-old doing her Gold residential!
