DofE supports The Big Plastic Count
Individuals, households, schools, community groups and businesses have been invited to take part in The Big Plastic Count – the largest plastic investigation of its kind.
The national plastic-counting campaign which is being led by Greenpeace UK and the non-profit organisation Everyday Plastic, encourages participants to count the amount of plastic they use between 11-17 March. The statistics from The Big Plastic Count will generate unique data on how much plastic packaging waste leaves UK homes and will be used to encourage leaders at a national and global level to phase out plastic pollution.

“The Big Plastic Count is empowering young people to take action against plastic pollution and we know it’s an issue that young people doing their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award care so much about.
“From helping in clothing banks to protecting our green spaces and reducing the use of plastic in schools, hundreds of thousands of young people do their DofE every year, developing new skills and making a difference in their local community. The Big Plastic Count provides another opportunity for young people to make a difference both locally and on a more global scale.”
