Our Gold Award Residential Programme runs during weeks when we do not have a group in residence, in 2024 this will be during the summer holidays.
Farming never stops though – our sites continue to work during these periods and there are always animals to feed, stables to muck out, harvesting to be done in our large productive gardens, produce to process and maintenance tasks around the farm. We use these weeks to do some of the bigger jobs we can’t always manage when we have primary aged children on site. Jobs might include coppicing hazel, repairing raised beds and poultry housing.
The week will offer an opportunity to experience life on a small farm in a stunning remote location. Wick Court comprises of a 16th Century Manor House, that is it reputed that Elizabeth I stayed in, and a traditional small holding sized farm. All activities on the farm will be fully supervised by our well trained and experienced staff and we will provide all training, tools, equipment and PPE needed.
This week is open to those who are 18 years old and over.
