Join us on a training & practice and/or qualifying Open Gold DofE Expedition in the Lake District or Snowdonia. The Gold expedition is both challenging and exciting and you will experience some beautiful scenery along the way.
You will receive full training and support from our highly experienced instructors in small groups of 7 participants, to 1 instructor.
Our Instructors cover a number of topics throughout the expedition including expedition requirements of the DofE, equipment choice, rucksack packing and fitting, food, first aid, emergency procedures, in depth navigation and compass training, route planning and weather, hygiene, camp-craft, the Countryside Code, teamwork, communication and leadership, practice expedition debrief and action plan, and expedition aims and presentations. At Gold there is also a wild-camp element.
All instructors working with the participants have National Governing Body qualifications, an enhanced DBS background check and an outdoor first aid qualification. Every group will have an assessor and an Expedition Manager overseeing all instructors, participants, safety and logistics.
We provide tents, sleeping mats, stoves, gas, pans, first aid kits, maps, compasses and large rucksacks, assessor reports and campsite fees are also included.
You need to bring personal clothing, walking boots, waterproofs, sleeping bag and food.
